Compliance services. Recreational craft / components

Our expertise enables us to undertake different types of work such as the ones below.

New Construction

With extensive experience in Notified Bodies and the marine industry, we provide expert compliance advice and end-to-end certification management. From initial enquiry through to inspection and final certification, we guide you through the most efficient and effective compliance pathway for your products. We also support design teams in addressing specific compliance requirements at every stage of development.

PCA

Once safety is ensured, we recognise that Post Construction Assessment (PCA) can be complex and costly for private importers.

We help you identify the most appropriate certification option for your specific case and manage the entire process.

Components

We provide marine equipment manufacturers with expert support to ensure their products meet all applicable regulatory requirements for their intended markets, with particular focus on components listed in Annex II of the Recreational Craft Directive 2013/53/EU (ignition-protected equipment, start-in-gear protection devices, steering systems, fuel tanks, and prefabricated hatches and portlights)—ensuring a clear and efficient route to compliance and certification.

Technical documentation

Technical documentation and management of vessel registration under State Flags.

Manufacturers of craft not requiring full certification through a Notified Body are still fully responsible for ensuring compliance with the Recreational Craft Directive 2013/53/EU.

We support your team—or act on your behalf—in managing the technical documentation necessary to demonstrate this compliance. Our services include the preparation and management of the Technical Construction File (TCF) for boats, engines, and components, drafting Owner’s Manuals and Declarations of Conformity, and carrying out conformity assessment reviews to ensure alignment with applicable requirements.

Worldwide compliance

Qualified to carry out recreational compliance assessments under international regulations, we are CE Authorised Inspector for EU NoBo.

Also ABYC Standards Advisor and Saudi Arabia Regulations (SASO Mark) assessor.

With extensive experience working with manufacturers and regulators worldwide, we provide guidance to achieve compliance wherever your market requires it.

Training

We provide tailored training for manufacturers and other interested parties.

CERTIFICATION

With over 15 years of experience working with Certification Bodies, we can guide you in making the process as smooth and practical as possible, from beginning to end.

CE Marking

CE marking confirms that a vessel complies with the essential safety, environmental, and construction requirements of the Recreational Craft Directive 2013/53/EU, allowing it to be legally placed on the European market and widely recognised as a benchmark of compliance worldwide. We guide you through the full certification process—from design assessment and testing to technical documentation and final declaration—ensuring a clear, efficient, and compliant route to market.

UKCA Marking

UKCA marking confirms compliance with UK requirements for recreational craft, based on the framework of the Recreational Craft Directive 2013/53/EU. CE marking is currently accepted in the UK; however, where UKCA documentation is required, we can support a smooth and compliant transition.

Saudi Arabia Quality Mark - SASO

If you export vessels to Saudi Arabia, they must comply with national regulations set by Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization. We can support you through the certification process, ensuring full compliance and a smooth route to market.
